Pre-kindergarten Active Steps to Success
The PASS program is based on the premise that young children learn best by doing; their play is their work. They are active learners who need to explore, discover, and develop their ideas through direct and immediate contact with objects, people, and events.
Classrooms are arranged to provide play choices based on each child’s current developmental level and interest.The PASS program also supports the parent as the child’s first teacher. Instruction is individualized, and teachers and parents form strong partnerships as they cooperatively plan for the child’s successful entrance into Kindergarten.
How Can I Enroll My Child In PASS?
Eligibility is determined after a child has participated in a developmental screening and the parent has completed a family profile form. Children will be considered for enrollment in PASS with first priority given to those who could most benefit from a preschool program.
