Student Assistance Team

  • Dakota Elementary School has a student assistance team that meets monthy.
  • The team is comprised of the student’s general education teacher, special education teacher, school principal, school psychologist, school social worker, and may also include the reading recovery teacher, speech language pathologist, and school nurse.
  • Concerns about achievement or behavior are initially raised by either the classroom teacher or the student’s parents; however, any member of a child’s team can make a request for a team meeting.
  • The team is a group of educational professionals who collectively target and define student concerns and develop individualized interventions to elevate students to higher achievement levels.
