FORMER LADY INDIAN TRACK ATHLETES MAKE MARK ON COLLEGE TRACK SCENE

Brittany Houghton - Brittany was a member of the NIU Huskie Women's Track and Field team.  Brittany participated this year in sprint relays and jumps for the Huskies.  She long jumped 18'01.75" for the Huskies in the Huskie Open on April 29th good for 2nd place.  She also had standout results as a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams with times of 48.99 and 3:55.95 respectively.  These outstanding results were at UNLV on March 6th.  Brittany is a 2006 graduate of Dakota.

Christine Nelson - Christine is a member of the Carthage College Lady Reds Track and Field team.  Christine participated in the heptathlon and pentathlon for Carthage this year among other events.  She finished 16th in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  She was also named "field athlete of the meet" at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  She had a 1st place finish in the heptathlon with 4422 points in that event.  Christine is a 2008 graduate of Dakota.
