The Career and Technical Education Department  has the unique pleasure of employing faculty who bring not only the technical expertise and teaching skill to the classroom, but also the REAL-WORLD, HANDS ON EXPERIENCE from prior work experience. 

 

Mary Beth Eilders holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University.  Additionally, she has been employed for several years in a business setting for various private-sector firms.  Prior to joining the Dakota faculty in 2000, her teaching experience includes disadvantaged and disabled adults, community college adult education, and various high schools in the northern Illinois area.

 

Andrea Erdmann earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University, and a Master's degree from National Louis University.  Her students and classroom are enriched by her previous childcare and food service work experience. Before joining the Dakota School District in 1999, Mrs. Erdmann was employed by the Lyons Township High School.  

 

Heather Obert obtained both a Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees from the University of Illinois.  Ms. Obert's prior teaching experience includes Orangeville High School before becoming a faculty member at Dakota High School in 2006.

 

Dan Tsao received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University, and a Master's degee from National Louis University.  Mr. Tsao brings to the classroom his expertise and prior work experience consisting of police vehicle repair and maintenance, and installation of electronic emergency equipment.  He has been a Dakota High School faculty member since 1996.

 

Doug Visel received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master's degree from National Louis University.  Mr. Visel enhances his classroom experience with his previous home-building and small business ownership work experiences.  He has owned Oak-N-Things since 1985.  Mr. Visel has been a dedicated Dakota High School faculty member since 1989.
