Meet the Math Department:

Nicole Cuplin

Nicole Cuplin earned her Associates Degree from Highland Community College and her Bachelor of Science from Illinios State University.  She did her student teaching in Oahu, Hawaii.  Mrs. Cuplin has also completed her Master's Degree from National Louis University.  Since joining the teaching staff at Dakota, Mrs. Cuplin has coached Sophomore volleyball for four years, served as the Senior class advisor and was chosen to participate in the Teachers at Space Camp at NASA's base in Huntville, Alabama.

Leigh Heilemeier

Leigh Heilemeier began teaching at Dakota High School in 1999 after teaching at Eastland High School.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rockford College.  Mrs. Heilemeier served as a presenter at the Teachers Teaching with Technology International Conference in 2007.

Chad Pals

Chad Pals came to Dakota in January 1999.  Mr. Pals attended Highland Community College and Northern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education and Master of Science in Secondary Math Education.

 Hannah Peterson

Hannah Peterson joined the Dakota staff in 2008.  She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Trinity International University.  Ms. Peterson is also a Jr. High volleyball coach, Sophomore class sponsor and the Hononegah Womens Soccer Goalkeeper coach.

Jill Spielman

Jill Spielman joined the Dakota staff in 2004.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education at Rockford College.  Mrs. Spielman also attended College of the Ozarks and Highland Community College.
